Already applied to college with a major I'm no longer interested in. Too late to change? HELP?

I applied to UC schools with a major I'm no longer interested in (music) and they already sent me e-mails to audition for them. Is it too late to change my major? Will it affect my chances of getting into the school if I do change it or if I don't attend the auditions at all? please help!

Most colleges give you until your junior year to declare your major. They will not judge you or revoke your admission if you tell them you want to change your major.

Typically, changing your major, especially prior to entering the university, is not a big deal as many students enter college undeclared or change their major up to three or four times before they graduate. Contact a rep at the admissions office and let them know your situation and see what they advise you to do.
